"A meeting of the SPG with guests took place as a dinner on the 11th of March 2016, at the Gosforth Palace Restaurant (formerly Poon's Restaurant) on Salters Road.

 

 Those present were Catherine Ashcroft, Tom Ashcroft, Mary-Clare Robinson, David Robinson, Judy Sunter, Yvonne Henry, James Henry, Phil Sloan, David Appleton, Chris Wright, Maureen Angus and Brian Angus. Apologies were received directly or indirectly from Adrian and Jean Morley, Kath Wright and Ros Sloan. Apologies from this note-taker if I have missed any apologies out.

 This excellent attendance was achieved despite the parking difficulties created by the redevelopment of the Salters Road / High Street junction (see below).

 

 An excellent Chinese Banquet was enjoyed by all in our usual Private Room. Although most of the food was consumed with relish, the remainder was provided to members as "doggie bags". Thanks to Mary-Clare for booking the room and acting as Treasurer for assembling the cash at the end of the meal."
