SPG is an acronym for 'Sundry Pathologists Group'. This comprises a small number of Newcastle-based Pathologists and a pathologically oriented Medical Statistician who meet regularly in the informal setting of the Duke of Wellington Inn to maintain contact and to exchange news and views. Though our group has existed for many years we were finding it increasingly difficult to arrange meeting dates which were not in conflict with members' other commitments.
   At the meeting held on Monday 17th November 2003 we discussed these and other problems and made some significant policy decisions:

 Current Constitution

(1). Future meetings will take place monthly and consecutive meetings will be advanced by one day from Monday through to Friday then back to Monday et seq.

(2). The dates of our twice-yearly Dinner Meetings, to which partners are invited, will be arranged some months in advance so that they can be entered into members’ social diaries and given high priority over most other engagements. Members will take it in turn to make the arrangements for these special occasions.

(3). Members decided that our Group should set up a Web Site. This would provide a notice board where details of future meetings could be accessed at any time; a place where matters of general interest to members could be aired; an archive incorporating some record of the history of the Group; also a Photograph Album
