SPG Minutes of 15 Dec 2016 and announcement of next meeting
The meeting convened at 8pm. Those present were James Henry, Phil Sloan, Chris Wright, Adrian Morley (webmaster), Mary-Clare Robinson, Brian Angus, David Appleton and David Robinson. Apologies were received from Tom and Catherine Ashcroft; Tom has a back problem restricting his mobility. Members wished Tom a speedy recovery. Kath Wright had intended to come, but had an Ethics Committee meeting on the same evening and knew she might not make it. Maureen Angus could not make it either as she was attending a family get- together in Aberdeen. The conversation was as usual wide ranging, from politics (Brexit), through to art (Enrique Azocar), and entertainment. On the latter theme, the sell out concerts by Billy Conolly held in the Theatre Royal and the City Hall (apparently part of his High Horse tour) were discussed. His amazing comedy was applauded, but his tale of the bicycle parking habits of some Glaswegians cannot be told here. Members enjoyed fine ales and other beverages, and consumed full English Breakfasts and Bacon Rolls. The difference between a Full English and a Full Scottish Breakfast was discussed at length. This recorder cannot remember the agreed distinction, but surely Haggis would be essential in a full Scottish. Members departed at 10.15 pm and all wished each other a Merry Xmas, soon to come. David informed Brian that the next meeting of the SPG would be on Monday 16th January. The usual gentle reminder will be sent.
